Hagemann Gulch Bridge Abutments

With shoring in place work has begun on the excavation of the western bridge abutment behind the Santa Cruz Bible Church on Frederick Street. Crews will continues the excavation this week to prepare for forming the footings and the abutment slab.

The four CIDH piles that were installed this week in the western abutment extend down approximately 50 feet below grade. Footings and a slab will be puored and will be anchored in place by 50 ground anchors.

Timber Lagging Wall at Harbor Access Road is Complete

Backfilling of the wall is complete. Crews begin forming the valley gutter behind the wall this week.
Preparation for installing the curb, gutter, and sidewalk along the harbor access road begins this week.

Multi-Use Trail Construction

Over 90% of the pervious concrete multi-use trail inside of the Arana Gulch open space has been placed. There is a 110 foot section that remains to be placed near the east side of the Hagemann Gulch Bridge.



Coastal Parie loop trail is temporarily closed until the end of the week due to the construction on the Multi-use trail at the midpoint of the meadow. The trail will be reopend after the section has cured and then plated for access.

Hagemann Gulch Bridge

1.Excavate bridge footing on east and west side

2. Drill and pour CIDH piles for bridge abutment.

Timber Lagging Wall at Harbor Road

1. Install baserock and make weather ready

2. Backfill wall and bury conduit for lighting

3. Begin forming concrete valley gutter behind wall

4. Excavate and form for curb, gutter and sidewalk

Pervious Concrete Multi-Use Trail

1. Continue re-grade trail for final preparation and hydroseed.

2. Strip forms and re-open to pedestrian traffic
