Alert!
Access to the harbor via the trails on the east side is available again for the week!
When going down to the harbor from the Agnes Street entrance on the new Marsh Vista trail on the east side of Arana Gulch, stay to the left of the fencing at the harbor intersection and as you follow the fence around there is a pedestrian way through the fence that rejoins the DG harbor path (see photos below).
When coming up the DG path from the harbor, park visitors have a choice of going either left or right to access Arana gulch and the Agnes Street entarnce.
The Arana Gulch Multi-Use Trail Project is underway! The ground breaking is behind us and you can stay on top of how the project progresses by following the blog weekly.

Winter weather is finally here in this first week of December. Clearing and grubbing of trees and bushes continues on the Hagemann Gulch bridge abutment areas on the east and west sides of the gulch. During the clearing process the heritage roses on the top of the eastern bank were uncovered. These roses are the 'Rose of Castile', planted by the Arana family in about 1843. They are the last original plants of that rose in town. The Parks and Recreation Department has removed some that were the most impacted by the new bridge alignment and they will be transplanted.
